The client
Boasting the latest state of the art facility situated in the Melbourne region of Geelong west is our automotive repair company. Partnered with all insurance companies and fully equipped to repair all makes and models, they also offer a 24 hour towing service and provides customers with exceptional service.
The role
They are currently looking for a skilled and qualified Motor Mechanic position to take up a full time role in their repair centre.
Some of the duties and tasks will include:
listen to engines, fit and operate special test equipment, and test-drive vehicles
repair or replace worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions, differentials or steering gear systems; dismantling them and checking parts, referring to manuals as necessary
reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced parts or assemblies, using various instruments to make sure they are working properly and putting them back into the vehicle
tune engines using special electronic equipment and make fine adjustments (to carburettors, for example) for smoother running
carry out minor body and trim repairs
diagnose, repair and replace engine management and fuel injection components
use oxy, electric, TIG and MIG welders
test and repair electrical systems such as lighting, instrumentation, ignition and electronic fuel injection
The requirements
A stable and relevant career in the automotive industry
At least 3 years of commercial experience
Certificate 4 in Automotive Mechanic Technology or similar qualification
A Driver’s licence and clean driving record
Able to pass a Drug and Alcohol test
Willing to undertake a police clearance
