Events Planner
The client
Our client is an established Sports and Social club based in southern Sydney in New South Wales and is looking for a full-time Events Planner to join their team. Boasting fresh refurbishments and modern facilities within their clubhouse, their customer base is growing steadily and they plan to introduce more events and activities on a regular basis to attract both new and existing customers.
The role
Reporting to the Group CEO, you will be required to coordinate events and oversee the development of exhibitor services. You will be self-motivated, results driven, self-starter and comfortable being to work autonomously and within a small team. The ability to maintain long-term relationships is important to facilitate sales growth from the existing customer base.
Key attributes for this role:
Hands on approach to engaging with members and delivering the wow factor in customer service.Accurate and timely completion of all administrative tasks required to prepare the execution of events
Look after the running of events – on-the-day logistics, room and AV set-up, morning registrations and make sure the event runs smoothly
Post-event admin – entering feedback forms and compiling and sending out presentations
Process daily registrations from delegates
Assist with bookkeeping and accounts receivables
Answer the customer service line
Promote conferences
Respond to inbound inquiries
Oversee and manage contractors (including AV and onsite managers)
Negotiate costs for venues, AV and travel
Excellent knowledge of the Registered Clubs & Liquor Acts, Fair Work Act, Registered & Licensed Club Award 2010, WH&S legislation, RSA & RCG.
The requirements
At least 2 years of relevant commercial and professional experience in a similar clubhouse environment
Previous experience in event planning is necessary
Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The ability to multi task while maintaining a calm and efficient demeanour
Initiative, creativity and a sense of responsibility
Enthusiasm, energy and a "can do" attitude
The ability to work unsupervised
Tertiary qualifications in business management is essential
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
