The client

Our client is a renowned eatery specialising in the unique flavours and aromatic spices of Indian cuisine. The restaurant is based in Hughesdale, Victoria, and is known in the area to give excellent food coupled with excellent service. We are looking to hire a motivated individual to join their successful team as a full-time Cook.

The Role

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Cooking and ensuring that all food items that leave the kitchen are of a high standard in presentation and meet the business’s standards

  • Providing excellent customer service to all customers

  • Maintaining a high standard of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness

  • Assisting with general cleaning and dishwashing

The requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • The ability to prepare and produce menu items to established recipes and methods

  • Formal training in cookery will be advantageous but suitable experience will also be highly regarded; Certificate 3 in Cookery and/or equivalent

  • At least 2 years of commercial cooking experience

  • Knowledge and experience in Indian food cuisine

  • Possess sound knowledge of food hygiene practices and HACCP

  • Ability to handle pressure in a professional manner.

  • Available for shift and weekend work typical of hospitality

  • A positive attitude and works well as part of the team

  • Proven ability to work unsupervised when required

  • Be motivated to produce fantastic, quality food
