Baker / Pastry Cook

The client

We are currently looking to hire a motivated individual who’s passionate about baking to join our client’s successful team as a full-time Baker.

Applicants will have to undergo specific training and learn procedures that are unique to the bakery. This position will be for full-time work and individuals are required to work standard bakery operations hours.

The Role

You will be involved in the steps of production and baking a wide variety of delicious bread and pastry products for our client’s bakery.

It is a fast paced role and focuses on excellence and creating unique cakes and pastries for customers to enjoy.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Baking and ensuring that all food items are of a high standard in presentation and meet the business’s standards

  • Providing excellent customer service to all customers when needed

  • Maintaining a high standard of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness

  • Assisting with general cleaning and dishwashing

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Have a desire to expand and learn the finer skills of baking

  • Certificate 4 in Bakery or Patisserie

  • 2 years of commercial baking experience

  • Possess sound knowledge of food hygiene practices

  • Ability to handle pressure in a professional manner

  • A positive attitude, willingness to work in a team, and motivation when working alone

  • Proven ability to work unsupervised when required

  • Be motivated to produce fantastic, quality food

  • A passion for quality and consistency
