Site Engineer
The Client
Based in Yeerongpilly, Brisbane, our client is a large provider of all steel fabrication and general engineering and services ranging from structural steel work, onsite work and custom fabrication projects.
Working with all aspects in projects with businesses and builders throughout Australia, the client prides itself in providing exceptional high quality of workmanship and excellent customer service.
They are currently seeking a full-time Site Engineer to join their professional site management team, where you will be responsible in managing their projects and the supervision and support of other contractors and workers on site. You will also be responsible in ensuring that all personnel and equipment are in strict compliance with health and safety regulations.
The Role
Some of the duties and tasks will include:
Acting as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors, crafts people and operatives.
Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations.
Ensuring all materials used and work performed are as per specifications.
Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant.
Agreeing a price for materials, and making cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project.
Managing, monitoring and interpreting the contract design documents supplied by the client/architect.
Liaising with any consultants, sub-contractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project.
Liaising with the local authority to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws.
Liaising with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress.
Day to day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors.
Planning the work and efficiently organizing the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines.
Overseeing quality control, health and safety matters on site.
Preparing reports as required.
Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties, and other problems that may arise
The Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering discipline
Proven skills in building effective relationships with various stakeholders
Demonstrated project management skills
The ability to manage budget and time constraints
Cost management and administration skills desirable
Self-motivated with the ability to lead
An exceptional eye for detail
Ability to work and cooperate in a team
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to problem solve and analyse
An open driver's license and reliable transport
