The Client

Our client is a Japanese restaurant in Southport, Queensland and is known to give excellent food coupled with excellent service. They are looking to hire a motivated individual to join their successful team as a full-time Chef.

The Role

You will have the opportunity to work within a growing business, which will supply you with career progression opportunities in the long term. You will be a proactive Chef with a professional approach.

The Responsibilities:

  • Cooking and ensuring that all food items that leave the kitchen are of a high standard in presentation and meet the business’s standards

  • Providing excellent customer service to all customers

  • Maintaining a high standard of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness

  • Assisting with general cleaning and dishwashing

The Requirements:

  • The ability to prepare and produce menu items to established recipes and methods

  • Formal training in cookery will be advantageous but suitable experience will also be highly regarded (Certificate III in Cookery and/or equivalent)

  • Possess sound knowledge of food hygiene practices and HACCP

  • Ability to handle pressure in a professional manner

  • Available for shift and weekend work typical of hospitality

  • A positive attitude and works well as part of the team

  • Proven ability to work unsupervised when required

  • Be motivated to produce fantastic, quality food
