Financial Controller

The Client

Based in Oakleigh, Victoria, our latest client is a longstanding Australian-owned business that prides itself on its delivery of top quality products to retail businesses throughout Australia.

The Role

They are now seeking an efficient, reliable and Financial Controller to join their business on a full-time basis. You will have the opportunity to work within a growing business, which will supply you with career progression opportunities in the long-term.

Some of the duties and tasks will include:

  • Effectively communicate and manage on financial matters;

  • Work with and oversee the internal accounting and the external accounting service provider in order to prepare financial reports that summarize and forecast the company’s financial position such as income statements, balance sheets and analyses of future earnings and income for reporting to the company’s director, and interpret the implication for the business performance and funding needs.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for financial information, reporting & disclosure;

  • Evaluate and monitor the company’s accounting system such as the current transaction processing and recommend process improvements enhancing productivity and internal controls;

  • Prepare client fee invoices, monitor client cash collections and outstanding accounts receivable; Prepare Accounts Receivable aging report and follow up with clients as needed to ensure collection; Prepare client provided schedules and respond to ad hoc requests;

  • In consultation with other managers to determine, implement, monitor, review and evaluate budgetary and accounting strategies, policies and plans of the company;

  • Deliver the company’s long range profit forecasts, budgeting and financial reporting.

The Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of commercial experience

  • A Bachelor degree or higher in Finance

  • Demonstrated understanding of financial report and financial management

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel

  • Excellent people and time management skills

  • Excellent presentation, analytical and communication skills

  • Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English and Chinese will be advantageous
