The Client

Our latest client is based in Geelong, Victoria. Specialising in the export of Australian products to the Asian market (most especially China), they are looking to hire a motivated individual to join their successful team as a full-time Exporter.

The Role

Some tasks and responsibilities may include:

• Undertaking, supervising and coordinating the overseas marketing activities

• Conducting market research of overseas demand for goods and identifying local suppliers

• Researching and complying with legal requirements affecting the export of goods from Australia and the import of goods to China

• Placing order of goods with suppliers and dealing with overseas distributors/buyers’ orders

• Preparing and confirming order approvals, handling pricing information and releasing invoices

• Liaising with logistic companies to arrange and scheduling the shipment of goods

• Working with logistic companies and custom brokers to ensure all customs documentation requirements are satisfied and all goods are shipped overseas in a timely manner

• Preparing reports regarding market conditions and merchandise costs, and keeping records of each order and data associated with exporting goods

• Being involved with contracts negotiations with overseas distributors and buyers

The Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar position

• Strong communication, analytical, critical and negotiation skills

• Comprehensive understand of commercial activity and the Asian market (especially China)

• Skills in research, administration and basic mathematics

• Ability to speak fluent English and Chinese is mandatory

• Knowledge of domestic and international custom requirements

• Must be willing to travel overseas at any given time
