Retail Buyer

The Client

Headquartered in Leederville, West Australia, our latest client possesses a host of franchises across West Australia. Our client specialises in providing discounted, high quality product to its customers, and is now seeking to employ a full-time Retail Buyer.

The Role

You will have the opportunity to work within a growing business, which will supply you with career progression opportunities in the long term. You will be a proactive Retail Buyer with a professional approach.

The Responsibilities

Some tasks may include:

  • Studying trade information and market’s needs and scoping out suppliers

  • Monitoring and controlling company stock levels

  • Reviewing and tracking sales performance figures and competitor activities

  • Negotiating and liaising purchase, promotion and supply arrangements with suppliers

  • Preparing reports on long-term planning and sales

  • Analysing trends and consumer buying patterns to determine quantity and quality of goods to be purchased

The Requirements:

  • At least a Diploma in a relevant field

  • Previous retail buyer in a FMCG environment is essential

  • Proven account management abilities to handle several supplier purchasing account lines

  • Experience in dealing with over 100 products at one time

  • High level of numeracy skills (confidence in Mathematics)

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Excellent communication, presentation, analytical and negotiation skills

  • Strong commitment to customer service

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office especially with Excel

  • High organisational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Must be comfortable with decision making
