Based in Lakemba, New South Wales, our latest client specialises in the wholesaling and retailing of high quality and affordable mobile phones and telecommunication devices such as Apple, Samsung, Sony, Oppo, Blackberry, and more! To accommodate for the business’ growth and success, the company is currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join its team as Retail Buyer.

The Responsibilities
Inspects, compares and purchases mobile and electronic products directly from suppliers
Ensures all products pass the regulatory requirements of the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA)
Decides new product models to re-sell based on market research findings
Determines sale prices based on supply and demand
Collects and analyses product feedback from consumers
Negotiates and agrees with suppliers about product warranties and other applicable consumer privileges
Manages product returns and repair requests
Plans, creates and manages stock control
Determines fast-moving and slow-moving products based on daily sales reports and plans purchase schedules based on findings
Searches and purchases mobile and electronic products for sale
Ensures all products have adequate stocks to last each sale cycle
Contacts suppliers to replenish merchandise
Conducts quality assurance checks upon arrival of new stocks
Obtains information from suppliers and salespeople about trending products and reorganises purchase strategies based on findings
Makes stock decisions based on product market value, geographical demands, and competition
Controls the flow of goods based on supply and demand
Anticipates customer demand to ensure that the right mobile models are displayed when the demand is at its highest
Maintains communication with regular suppliers and discusses purchase arrangements
Keeps aware of relevant legal information such as consumer rights and store licensing
Liaises with product manufacturers, suppliers and salespeople to exchange relevant information about mobile consumer trends
Discusses with liaisons about planning, budgeting, promoting and advertising campaigns applicable to the mobile market
Searches and negotiates with new suppliers and product manufacturers based on business supply needs
The Requirements
Strong analytical skills
Relevant diploma qualifications for the role
Experience within a related industry is preferable
Knowledgeable and interested in retail market trends
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Good commercial awareness
Effective planning and organisation skills
Good with numbers
Willing to travel and work flexible hours
